Oh, and you also informed me through the picture that Harley is more than a cartoon character! Nice. :3 (I don't think I've ever even touched one of the comics, to be honest. XD I don't read much in the way of American comics, even though I like some of the characters)

Harley Quinn is one of the few characters from Batman the Animated Series who has made the successful transition to the comics.

I would probably recommend you read Harley Quinn the graphic novel. The artwork by Terry Dodson is incredible and the story by Karl Kesel is pretty good.

Also, I recommend reading anything by Paul Dini who used to write for the Batman cartoon and started writing Batman and Dectective Comics in 2007 when DC did the whole "One Year Later."

Pick up any of the Batman or Detective Comics w/ black and white covers from 2007, i wanna say that the DC numbers were like #821-826

Oh wow? That overly silly girl made it to the comics successfully? That IS impressive. (Considering the tonal difference between most non-comic Batman versions and what I hear the comics are. The new movies and the original one with Jack Nicholson as the Joker are the only ones that really captured the "feel").

I just don't read much in the way of comics. None, if you don't lump manga into the graphic novel scene. The only comics I ever read were the Sonic (and related Knuckles) ones from Archie, although I read the two NiGHTS into Dreams miniseres they released as well. I'm much more of a manga gal. One of the problems with American comics is they tend to be VERY long and plotlines get thrown out of continuity with no explanation or completely trashed and replaced (the latter refers to what happened to the DC universe due to characters such as Superman just being too plain powerful). Even the Archie Sonic continuity dealt with the out of whack continuity, but I think that related more to Sega's interference (such as Princess Sally not dying when she had been planned to. I like her but it doesn't change that she hade been written out of the plot and is now a third wheel) than script problems.
